“Train up a child in the way that he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6
Faith is the foundation of everything we do.
We partner with families to nurture children’s hearts, character, and love for the Lord from the very beginning.
Every child is known, valued, and loved.
We create a warm, family-centered environment where children feel safe, connected, and truly at home.
Childhood here is unhurried and hands-on.
Through meaningful work, play, and life skills, children grow in confidence, responsibility, and purpose.
Mornings are focused and intentional.
Children begin their day with classic academic foundations, including early literacy, early math, fine motor development, and age-appropriate instruction that encourages attention, curiosity, and a love of learning.
Afternoons invite children outside and into real life.
Through hands-on activities and outdoor experiences, children practice life skills like gardening, cooking, caring for animals, sewing, and tending to their space. Play, creativity, and meaningful work are woven together, helping children grow in confidence and independence.
"I grew up in a home where everyone belonged. Little Risers is our way of creating that same sense of belonging for the next generation."
— Donna, Co-Founder
Little Risers Schoolhouse began as a shared dream between a mother and daughter — a dream shaped by faith, family, and a lifelong love for children.
For Donna, that love was formed early. As the oldest of ten siblings she grew up in a home where every child who walked through the door was welcomed as family. Her upbringing instilled in her a deep understanding of belonging, mentorship, and what it means to lead with love. Years of serving in children’s ministry, raising her own children, and running businesses strengthened her conviction that children thrive when they are known, guided, and surrounded by steady values.
For Verlana, the calling came just as early. After giving her life to Christ in sixth grade and walking through the loss of her father, she discovered healing and purpose through serving children. From tutoring her younger brother to nannying, substitute teaching, working in preschool classrooms, and now teaching elementary students, her path has consistently drawn her back to education. At just seven years old, she told her mother she would one day open a preschool — a dream that quietly took root and never faded.
Together, their experiences — generational faith, hands-on caregiving, ministry leadership, business ownership, classroom experience, and a shared conviction to return to the basics — have woven into something intentional.
Little Risers is not simply a school.
It is the natural extension of a calling that has shaped both of their lives.
We know choosing the right school comes with important questions.
Little Risers Schoolhouse is currently accepting children ages 4 to 7 for the 2026–2027 school year. Enrollment is intentionally limited to preserve small class sizes and a hands-on, relational learning environment.
Annual tuition for the 2026–2027 school year is $13,000 per student. Flexible payment options are available, including 10-month and 12-month payment plans, to help make this investment manageable for your family. We also offer discounts for tuition paid in full, as well as sibling discounts for families enrolling more than one child.
Our tuition reflects our commitment to small class sizes, hands-on learning, and a deeply relational, faith-centered environment. We believe every family deserves the opportunity to explore whether Little Risers is the right fit — our admissions team is happy to walk you through payment options and available discounts during the enrollment conversation.
Families begin by completing the pre-registration form. From there, we thoughtfully review each submission and contact families whose values and expectations align with Little Risers Schoolhouse to discuss next steps.
Little Risers offers a structured full school-day experience designed to support both learning and childhood rhythms. Our program balances focused academic instruction with outdoor play, life skills, and meaningful work throughout the day.
Completing this form helps us learn more about your family and determine whether Little Risers Schoolhouse may be a good fit. Families who align with our program and values will be contacted with next steps.
